Neural Solid-State Drives & Neural Servers

The NSSD is a new category of intelligent storage that embeds neuromorphic neural processing directly into the drive. Instead of moving data to distant processors, the NSSD performs learning, recognition, de-duplication, and clustering where the data lives—inside the drive itself.

Today, AI inference means pulling data from storage, moving it across buses and networks to GPUs, processing it, and sending results back. This consumes enormous energy and introduces latency. The NSSD eliminates this bottleneck with in-storage recognition.

Key capabilities include content-addressable lookup that replaces traditional hash coding and indexing, de-duplication of redundant data, clustering of unstructured data for similarity discovery and outlier detection, and in-situ recognition that dramatically reduces I/O overhead.
